Behavioral Medicine

Methodist Hospital of Chicago is proud to be a member of the Care Coordination Innovation Project. This new project focuses on developing an alternative model of delivering care. Patient-centered, the focus is on improved health outcomes and providing enhanced patient access and patient safety. The project works to improve the quality, coordination and cost-effectiveness of the care for the mental health community.

Methodist Hospital’s Behavioral Medicine Department includes an outreach team, an intake department, and four inpatient units supporting development disabilities, Gero-psychiatry, men’s unit and Center for Behavioral Medicine.

The mental health Intake Department provides 24-hour, 7-days per week intake and referral services to assist in meeting the needs of patients seeking treatment for mental illness.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (I.O.P.)

The Intensive Outpatient Programs offer supportive group therapy that assist persons in congregate or group living environments, thereby managing their day to day living with greater success and satisfaction.

Transitional support is provided for persons moving from residential to independent living with a focus on teaching the skills and identifying support systems required to make that transition successful. Specialized services are also offered for mentally ill substance abuse clients.
