Neighbors In Crisis Evaluation (N.I.C.E.)

At Methodist Hospital of Chicago, we fulfill our mission through the philosophy of holistic human service, which is the understanding and care of human beings as whole persons, inclusive of their relationships to God, themselves, their families and the society in which they live.

We endeavor to maintain good relations with our neighbors and a cooperative partnership with community service organizations.

The N.I.C.E. program was established as our response to the increasing need for a community-based assessment of a person in crisis.

What we do:
  • On-site behavioral assessment
  • Baseline vital sign screen
  • Care management coordination
  • Medical and/or psychiatric referral
  • Continuity of care through established treatment provider
  • "Let's Talk" discussion groups on topics related to behavioral wellness
